Jantze's strips are consistently great. The Norm has everything I love about comic strips. Every day has a setup and punchline, yet he maintains story lines that continually add depth to the characters and make a book like this more like a graphic novel than just a collection of daily gags. The characters are relatable yet quirky enough to be memorable. The illustrations are simple, yet full of emotion and style. Jantze's obviously extremely comfortable with a pen and it shows in his seemingly effortless lines. While clearly unique, his style seems influenced by some of the masters of the craft especially Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes).Product details

Great read. The Norm is an enjoyable strip, and I'd highly recommend following version 4.0 by Jantze.

Love The Norm since syndication days! Have hard copy of this and all of Michael Jantze's collections, but can never have enough versions.
Really beautiful drawings with funny stories of Norm's day to day life. I would like more comics of Norm or even a short animation. There is this kind of cozy feeling in this comics. For someone who isn't married, this comics gives you an insight on how first years of marriage might feel like in a humorous turns of events.
Jantze really grabs you with great art and great observations on life. Norm and Reine are the people you want for your next door neighbors, and the characters remind you of those you know in real life. Real humor. What a concept!
